HOW TO LOOK QUARANTINE CUTE AND FASHIONABLE FROM HOME
Since being at home is the new norm – aside from our brave essential workers who continue to work tirelessly for us everyday - we naturally want to be comfortable in what we wear and certainly have been enjoying the much less restrictive dress code styles that we normally would wear to work, to run errands or to take the kids to school, dance and sports.
But even though we can be comfortable and relaxed in our stay at home outfits, this does not mean that style and fashion should be compromised.
When you wake up with a routine to dress up and get ready, you inherently will feel more motivated and happier. It also sets you up for success so every day, so I try to make sure to wear cute, comfortable outfits ensuring my day will begin on a positive note. Mental and physical self-care are both so very important during these days at home.
My go to pieces during this time haven’t varied much from what I typically love to wear. In fact, my company was founded with the intent to create and design comfortable chic clothing that was lacking in the market and that I loved to wear, and I was motivated to launch my company to make sure that other girls could have the opportunity to wear it too!
Here are a few go to styles that I am currently favoring:
SWEATSUITS
These don’t have to be your old worn out favorites. I love a comfortable sweat outfit but I try to make sure that it has just an extra bit of detail added. Whether it is simple stripe down the sleeve, a crystal embellished print or specialty dye, any of these will add excitement to your outfit. I’m pretty sure that you have been seeing so many cute sweats right now and I particularly am obsessed with all of the adorable tie dye pieces. It’s a simple way to glam up your outfit this season. In fact one of my very first designs that I shipped to Bloomingdales was a pink tie dye tracksuit embellished with a crystal crown.
When looking for a cute sweat outfit there a few styles to consider:
Loose and comfortable
Chic Jogging outfit
Sporty Sweats
ATHLEISURE and LEGGINGS
So I’m pretty sure the majority of us are trying to remain as active as we can with a daily online exercise video, a jog around the neighborhood or a leisurely bike ride or walk. We also want to be comfortable during our work zoom calls at our desk but still look decent and cute. To integrate work and exercise from home, I typically like to wear a cute printed athletic legging with a coordinating athleisure style top, a pullover tee or sweatshirt. If I have a zoom meeting I will change it up by throwing on a comfy sweater or fashionable top with a solid black legging for a more “work from home” style.
This comfortable style is what I adhere to pretty much daily – even before this time at home.
SNEAKERS and DRESSES
This is definitely not your Grandma’s dress. A house dress today can mean so many things from a knit maxi lounge style to a loose cotton long dress that feels like you are wearing a nightgown. With warmer weather ahead and the thought of wearing sweats not sounding as appealing in the summer months, slip on a cute comfy dress. I love a maxi dress so that is definitely my choice but a short loose style works great too for these days at home.
A cute sneaker is my favorite coordinating shoe for these comfortable days. I often will pair a sneaker with my sweatsuits, leggings and dresses. I am just loving a comfortable cotton dress – short or midi – paired with a platform sneaker. I think it’s the juxtaposition of a dress with sneakers that is so unexpected but yet so darn cute. I love a designer sneaker with my leggings but if that is out of your budget right now there are so many cute styles to choose from with lots of great sales going on as well!
As for the style of sneakers? There are so many to choose from but for me it’s pretty much always going to be one with a bit of a platform. That’s not to say there aren’t other options but in the end, there is no wrong way to go so just choose what you love the most!
To summarize, when you decide on your comfortable loungewear outfits, choose what makes you feel the best and the happiest. But most importantly take care of yourself. Meditate, exercise, cook, detox from the internet or do whatever makes you feel good. Self-care is the most important thing right now but hopefully these simple stay at home style tips will also add a little happiness to your days.
